I am Associate Professor of Emerging Technologies for Education at the University of Newcastle, Australia. I believe that everyone has the potential to succeed, and that digital technology can be used to level the playing field of privilege.
Currently I working on the pedagogical, ethical and governance dimensions of artificial intelligence and am leading investigations into using virtual reality for deeper learning with primary and secondary school students. I am a technology ethicist who is interested in working on complex ethical questions regarding old and new technology in schools and higher education. I am a maker of computer games for literacy learning for students all ages and a champion of equity in education. I believe that, regardless of their economic situation or geographic background, all students should have access to amazing technology for learning.
